Custom Order Policy
Last updated: October 30, 2026
At Crafted in Light Co., we create personalized products using laser engraving, 3D printing, and CNC machining. We aim to communicate clearly throughout the custom-order process. Please review these terms before placing a custom order. Specific written terms provided with your quote or invoice will control where they differ, subject to applicable law.
1. Custom Quotes and Pricing
Each custom project is quoted individually based on design complexity, materials, dimensions, quantity, customization, and production requirements.
- Requesting a quote does not obligate you to purchase.
- Quotes are valid for 14 days unless we specify otherwise.
- Pricing may change if the scope, quantity, materials, or design requirements change. We will discuss changes before charging additional amounts.
- Applicable taxes and shipping charges will be identified before payment.
2. Payment and Deposits
- Orders under $100 generally require full payment before production.
- Orders of $100 or more generally require a 50% deposit, with the balance due before shipment or pickup.
- Large organizational orders or jobs requiring special-order materials may have different payment terms, disclosed before purchase.
- Production generally begins after required payment and design approval.
Any cancellation-related charges or deductions from deposits will depend on work performed, materials committed, agreed terms, and applicable law. A deposit is not automatically nonrefundable in every circumstance.
3. Artwork, Design Proofs, and Approval
When appropriate, we will provide a digital proof before production.
- One reasonable design revision is included unless your quote specifies otherwise.
- Further revisions or substantial changes may incur an additional charge; we'll communicate it before proceeding.
- Please carefully review spelling, names, dates, measurements, placement, and personalization details.
- If a proof is required, we will obtain final design approval before production begins.
Once manufacturing has started, changes may no longer be possible.
4. Production and Turnaround
Production times depend on project complexity, material availability, quantity, and our current workload. We will communicate an estimated production or shipping date with your quote. The production estimate generally begins after approval, required payment, and receipt of necessary materials. Shipping transit time is separate.
Rush production may be offered when feasible and may involve an additional fee. If we anticipate missing an agreed shipping date, we will promptly contact you and provide the options and refunds required by applicable law.
5. Customer-Supplied Tumblers and Other Materials
We accept inquiries for engraving customer-supplied tumblers and other compatible materials, subject to review. Not all materials, coatings, finishes, dimensions, or shapes can be engraved safely or reliably.
- We may ask to inspect or test an item before accepting a project.
- We may decline items that are incompatible with our equipment or present an unacceptable risk.
- Existing defects, coatings, and material characteristics may affect engraving appearance.
- We will discuss identifiable risks before accepting the work.
Responsibility for any loss or damage will be assessed under the agreed terms and applicable law. We do not disclaim responsibility for damage caused by our negligence.
6. Cancellations, Returns, and Refunds
Before production: You may request cancellation. We will discuss any charges for completed design work or specially ordered, nonreturnable materials in accordance with the agreed terms and applicable law.
After production begins: Because customized items are made for a particular customer, cancellations and refunds may be limited. Requests are reviewed based on work completed, committed costs, and applicable law.
Completed personalized items: We generally do not accept change-of-mind returns for custom products or customer-approved personalization. This does not affect rights related to defective products, our errors, unfulfilled shipping obligations, or other remedies required by law.
7. Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Orders
If a product arrives damaged, defective, or materially different from the approved order, please contact craftedinlightco@gmail.com within seven days of delivery when possible. Include your order information, an explanation, and photographs if available.
We will review the concern and determine an appropriate resolution, such as repair, replacement, or refund. The requested seven-day notice does not limit rights available under applicable law.
8. Shipping and Local Pickup
We will communicate available shipping options, charges, and estimated timing before order confirmation. Please provide accurate delivery details. Local pickup in the Clarksville, Tennessee area may be available by prior arrangement.
If an item is lost or damaged during transit, contact us so we can investigate and provide the remedies required by the order terms and applicable law.
9. Copyright, Trademarks, and Customer Artwork
By supplying logos, names, artwork, or other protected designs, you represent that you own the required rights or have permission to use them for the requested project. We may decline any request that appears to violate someone else's intellectual property rights.
We will not publicly showcase customer-submitted artwork as a completed project without appropriate permission.
10. Natural Production Variations
Laser engraving, 3D printing, CNC machining, and natural materials can produce minor differences in texture, color, wood grain, and finish. Such variations are not automatically defects, but finished work should reasonably match the approved specifications and agreed quality standards.
